On July 20, 2012, Audacious Inquiry successfully completed a SCAMPI Class A appraisal to achieve CMMI Maturity Level 2 for software development. Each level of the CMMI maturity scale evaluates certain process areas and practices and certifies satisfactory completion of those processes at an organizational level. Achieving maturity level 2 establishes that Ai has successfully executed best practices for project planning, project monitoring and control, requirements management, configuration management, measurement and analysis, and process and product quality assurance.

Ai’s team of software engineers and project managers has worked hard to improve our processes over the last year leading up to this appraisal, developing and implementing the Ai Software Engineering Process (ASEP) based on the principles of CMMI and the Project Management Institute (PMI), which we have adapted to meet the needs of a lean and agile technology company. ASEP is a lightweight and efficient delivery process that is customized to our unique needs to improve client satisfaction, predictability, repeatability, and traceability. It is designed so that project documents, reports, and work products flow naturally from the process, allowing us to monitor and track project progress in a standardized way while allowing project team members to focus on delivering the best possible products to our clients, not mountains of paperwork.
The process relies on a foundation of core phases and events which trigger work products and project documentation, as well as core principles and habits, including document control and deploying tools like Team Foundation Server (TFS) to track changes and progress. Constant evaluation and feedback from team members and clients are built into the process to ensure both compliance and that Ai and ASEP are constantly improving.
Congratulations to the Ai team on this achievement and thanks for all of your hard work!
