Ai is pleased to join the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) in announcing the launch of www.oncprojectracking.org, a system for reporting and tracking issues supporting health information technology (HIT) standards. EHR technology developers and user communities are already using the platform to provide feedback regarding 2014 Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs).
CQMs are standards developed by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and ONC, designed to demonstrate meaningful use of health information technology by healthcare providers. All providers are required to report on CQMs, and the resulting data is used in a variety of quality initiatives, including quality improvement and public reporting. ONC certifies that electronic health record (EHR) technologies are capable of accurately calculating the CQM data, enabling providers who utilize those technologies to comply with reporting requirements. Visit HealthIT.gov
for more information on CQMs.
As the issue tracking platform scales, it will enable EHR technology developers and users to look for answers to questions, share suggestions and code, and provide real-time feedback to CMS, ONC, and federal agencies that develop and release quality standards.
The new instantiation of the tool, designed by Ai’s development team, went live on July 5, and will be followed up by regular maintenance and enhancement cycles, introducing new features and integrating feedback. Ai will also work with ONC and end users to develop user guides and training materials to facilitate maximum stakeholder communication as CQM reporting is implemented for 2014 and beyond.
