AI DIRECTOR JOINS JOHNS HOPKINS PROFESSIONAL FACULTY

Starting in November, AI’s Director of Health Information Systems, Robert Horst, will be teaching a graduate-level course on medical informatics at Johns Hopkins University. The informatics course will be part of an MBA program in Medical Services Management that is a combined engagement between the Carey Business School and the Hopkins University School of Medicine. Rob will draw heavily on his experience as the Management Service Organization (MSO) Coordinator for the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP) Regional Extension Center (REC) to design a curriculum that will enable health professionals to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in health IT today. Course topics will cover a wide array of pertinent issues for physicians and hospital administrators, includingbasics of health IT, IT governance, EHRs and other relevant technologies, impacts of meaningful use, and many others.
