AI HELPING TO IMPLEMENT STATEWIDE EXCHANGE IN FLORIDA

Audacious Inquiry (AI) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by Harris Corporation to support the implementation of a statewide health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure in the state of Florida. The project, awarded to Harris by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) under a four-year, $19 million contract, is intended to improve the delivery and coordination of healthcare throughout the state.

AI brings to the Harris team an intimate knowledge of best practices surrounding state-level HIE implementation and adoption through the firm’s extensive work with CRISP, Maryland’s HIE, as well as interoperability and EMR implementation experience with healthcare provider organizations.  AI team members will be staffing the positions of Adoption & Outreach Coordinator and Deputy Program Manager on the Harris team.

The solution to be implemented in Florida will leverage CONNECT, the open-source/standards-based platform that Harris developed for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, to facilitate connectivity to the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN). This approach will enable AHCA to efficiently adapt to changing health policies and technologies, while minimizing the total cost of ownership and building on existing regional investments in a connected Florida HIE.
