Scott Afzal, a Principal at Audacious Inquiry, traveled to San Francisco last month to give two presentations on his experiences and organizational successes as the Program Director for the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP), Maryland’s statewide health information exchange (HIE).  The trip resulted in exciting media coverage for Scott and AI.

Here is a link to an article in InformationWeek on HIEs in which Scott is quoted extensively.

Also, here is a video of Scott discussing Maryland’s HIE from the eHI website:

Scott served as a featured faculty member for the National Regional Extension Centers (REC) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) Summit – West. Alongside other powerful policy-makers and thought-leaders, Scott participated in a panel on collaboration and coordination between HIEs and RECs; he referenced experience at CRISP, which serves as both the statewide HIE and REC for Maryland.  This session took place on Monday, October 4th at 5:00 PM (Pacific), and was accessible nationwide via webcast.
