BALTIMORE, MD. September 14, 2016 — Audacious Inquiry LLC (Ai), a health information technology and policy company, today announced that former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Senior Official, Julie Boughn, has joined Ai effective September 12, 2016.
Ms. Boughn previously served in several CMS leadership roles, including Chief Information Officer; Deputy Director of the CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI); Deputy Director of the Center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Services (CMCS); Director of the Information Services Modernization group; and Director of the Office of Information Services (OIS).

During her tenure at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Ms. Boughn provided leadership to both program implementation and policy development, including the design and implementation of Advanced Payment Models such as Pioneer Accountable Care Organizations, modernized Medicaid eligibility systems in states, and the implementation of the Medicare Part D program. She has overseen information security and privacy programs, and multi-billion dollar investment portfolios. Julie was recognized with a Presidential Rank Meritorious Executive Award and the CMS Employee’s Choice Award for Executive Leadership. Prior to Ai, Ms. Boughn was Chief Innovation Officer at Cognosante LLC. She earned a M.S. in Information Systems and Technology from Johns Hopkins University, and holds M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Maryland.
