G2X TAKE: A little more than 2 months after CMS held their official kick-off meeting with small business primes, this 8(a) SPARC prime just picked up the first known award on this new multiple-award contract… and the action shows they were paying attention.
Audacious Inquiry (Ai) received its first prime (8a) award under the SPARC vehicle to work with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT to continue development and maintenance of the Standards Implementation and Testing Environment (SITE).
Note- we didn’t say the work was with CMS. As part of the initial meeting with SB primes, CMS OAGM encouraged this group to let other HHS OPDivs know that SPARC is an option and that there are no fees to use the vehicle. They apparently meant it, Ai leaders heard it, and they acted on it.
As for this task award, SITE is a web-based, centralized collection of testing tools and resources designed to assist health IT developers-implementers evaluate specific technical standards and maximize the potential of their health IT. This is a continuation of work that Ai has been supporting since 2013 and can be found at www.healthit.gov/SITE.
This was a 3-year award. There were no other bidders. PSC was the contracting office used for this action.
