Get the answers to your most pressing compliance questions in our new eBook
Hospitals across the country certainly have April 30th , 2021, circled on their calendars as the deadline for the new Conditions of Participation e-notification requirement…but just how much certainty is there when it comes to maintaining compliance under the ruling?
By that date, Medicare- and Medicaid-certified hospitals—including psychiatric and critical access hospitals—must have in place a compliant solution to generate and send electronic notifications to patients’ established care providers, upon hospital admission, transfer, or discharge. This Conditions of Participation e-notification mandate was handed down by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in May 2020, as part of the Interoperability and Patent Access final rule, intended to provide improved health information access for patients, providers, and payers.
