BALTIMORE, MD. February 9, 2017 – Audacious Inquiry (Ai), a health information technology and policy company, today announced that former Oregon state government technology leader, Sarah Miller, has joined Ai effective February 1, 2017.  Sarah has more than 12 years of experience in implementing large scale technology projects in Oregon state government, most recently leading the successful design and implementation of the MAGI Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment Project.

Prior to coming to Ai, Sarah served as the Oregon Department of Human Services’ Chief Operating Officer for Technology, the Oregon Integrated Eligibility Determination Project Director, and the Statewide Chief Operating Officer at Oregon’s Department of Administrative Services.

A certified Project Management Professional, Sarah is a subject matter expert in project planning and execution, information technology, change management for system implementations, and vendor and contract management ($100M+ contracts) for large-scale Medicaid technology projects.

In her capacity as Senior Director for Ai, Sarah will act as a strategic technology advisor to various state governments and with federal agency partners.  On joining the Ai team, Sarah said, “I’m thrilled to join such a talented team of people who continue to innovate on a national level in technology projects.  I hope to continue my passion for state government by helping states develop strategic technology plans, especially in Medicaid and other human service program areas while working at Ai.”

During her tenure at Oregon DHS, Sarah successfully negotiated a $162 Million expansion to the MAGI Medicaid System for the purposes of Integrated Eligibility Determination, including Non-MAGI Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and Employment Related Day Care.  Sarah led Oregon’s integrated Advanced Planning Document process for the project, including successfully negotiating an A-87 Cost Allocation Exception Waiver from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and US Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Services.  Sarah holds a Master of Public Health degree from Idaho State University and a B.A. degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana.
